(Beijing, 2010-9-30) As supporting ACEII’s effort in accelerating Concentrated Solar Power’s deployment, Asian Coalition for Climate and Energy helped to organize the Concentrated Solar Power Executive Roundtable 29th-30th September, Beijing China.
This roundtable is occurring at an exciting time in energy and clean technology. Solar technology is advancing at a phenomenal pace and scale throughout the world. Like many other countries, China is poised to aggressively pursuing projects that will enable it to meet its goal of providing 15 percent of the country's energy needs with renewable by 2020. The primary new opportunity for growth in utility scale solar projects will be those employing concentrated solar thermal (CSP) technologies. China enjoys geographic and insolation characteristics that are well-suited to the development of CSP, and the government and other institutions are establishing significant mandates and amassing capital and incentives for utility scale solar development.
